I am often asked by my clients who run a blog, of methods as to how they can create unique posts that will interest their customers but also generate traffic from new users. It is something, I myself also struggled with when I initially started my blog due to the thousands of active bloggers currently and the millions of potential subjects out there.

Being able to identify the right topic can be quite tricky so why not have a thought about using some other methods to attract customers to your blogs. It is a known fact that you require awesome, engaging content on your website to compete for organic search traffic nowadays and that will still not necessarily rank you high in Google’s competitive search engine.

So let’s have a look at how you can create intriguing SEO-friendly content with these alternative types of blogging.

  • Make use of an Infographic

Infographics are a visually compelling communication medium that done well can communicate complex data in a visual format that is potentially viral. They take deep data and present it in a visual shorthand whilst offering useful information at the same time. Well-produced infographics are also much more likely to go viral than text-based content, as people prefer sharing data portrayed in a visual format. While infographics usually aren’t cheap to produce (unless you have an in-house graphic designer), there are a few services online like Piktochart or Canva that offers templates to design an infographic at a low cost or even free.

  •  Produce a Youtube Video

YouTube is the second most popular search engine alongside Google whom it is also owned by. As is well known, Google gives priority to its videos within search results and hence it is imperative you start making use of video marketing (a subject I have touched upon several times  in this blog). You can shoot a short video (one to three minutes) with your iPhone, upload it to YouTube and promote it across your social media channels or even go further as to hiring a videographer to create a unique video for you.

Always remember that – just like infographics-  your video should be compelling and useful to your audience. Think about producing informational content such as a customer success stories or “How to guides” we will touch upon below.

  • Offer a How to Guide

Creating a guide is my final advice of an alternative type of blog you can use to attract engagement to your blog. As a business owner or even a blogger, you are often faced with complex issues and stumbling blocks that inhibit you or your company  from developing. Why not offer useful guides and tips to your customers or fans either from personal experience or knowledge of the industry to assist them in overcoming these obstacles.

A guide will not only keep your audience on your blog for a longer time due to its length but also demonstrate your ability to articulate complex ideas in an effective manner to your clients’ but are also interested in helping them and assisting in them in getting better knowledge of their industry. Both will place you highly in their estimates and drive them to return to your blog for more interesting and useful advice.
