CFM Group is proud to announce the appointment of its Managing Director, Mr Nicholas Kalavas, as a Trustee for Emmaus Cambridge.
Mr Kalavas is the youngest member of the Board of Directors and brings with him a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge in Business Development, Marketing and Social Media as well as an undoubted hunger to assist and develop the charity.
Mr Kalavas commented: “Becoming a Trustee is a challenging but very rewarding responsibility I have always been keen to undertake. Emmaus is a much respected European charity and the Trusteeship provided me a great opportunity to step forward and help a Cambridge charity that makes a real difference to people’s lives. Emmaus Cambridge is a successful enterprise in its own right and the prospect of giving something back through voluntary work was a highly motivating factor.”
As the charity’s activities and development are rapidly growing, Emmaus says it is delighted that Mr Kalavas has agreed to join the Charity as a trustee.
Emmaus Cambridge is a social enterprise that gives formerly homeless people a place to live, meaningful voluntary work and a sense of belonging. Around 30 companions (the name used for Emmaus residents) live at the charity’s site in Landbeach. There, they learn new skills and restore their feeling of self-worth in a community where the ethos is about giving something back to those less fortunate than yourself.
